Batsugun is a vertical arcade shooter released in 1993 by Toaplan. The game attracted attention due to the large number of bullets fired by both enemies and allies.
This led many games to adopt the same type of gameplay. Batsugun thus became the pioneer of Bullet Hell. The "special" edition of the game was later released on home consoles.
The player can choose between 3 types of aircraft. The goal is to destroy all approaching enemies with shots and bombs.
In this way, the player can collect power-ups and experience points. When the experience gauge reaches a certain point, the player's aircraft evolves and becomes more powerful.
There is no difference between the types of aircraft in terms of performance, but the aircraft change between players 1 and 2.
